张弼士南洋商务考察及槟、叻中华总商会的建立

摘 要 学界关于张弼士研究的史料收集和论文撰述资料颇丰，本文的写作主要着墨于1905年末张弼士奉旨考察南洋商务以及其推动建立新加坡、槟榔屿中华商会的相关问题。文章包括以下几个问题和内容：其一，此次南洋商务考察的国内新政背景；其二，清政府缘何选派张弼士赴南洋考察；其三，此次张弼士南洋考察以及槟叻两城中华总商会建立的史料收集和补充，以考证张弼士本人对于槟、叻两城总商会建立的重要影响。

The Research on Cheong Fatt Tze’s Business Tour to Southeast Asia and Establishment of Penang and Singapore’s Chinese Chamber of Commerce

Abstract: There are a plenty of historical documents and essays which studyCheong Fatt Tze. This article focused on Cheong Fatt Tze’s business tour to Southeast Asia which aimed at establishment of Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Southeast Asia for Qing government in 1905. The essay embraces the following three parts. Firstly, the background of this business tour in China. Secondly, why Qing government chose Cheong Fatt Tze as leader of the tour? Last, collection documents about the tour and establishment of Chinese Chamber of Commerce at Penang and Singapore which could study Cheong Fatt Tze’s role during the development of Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Southeast Asia.
